What do you do when you’ve been to hell and back, literally? For Mercy, it meant the beginning of the end for everything. Love, Happiness, Life. When the people important to her are thrown into danger and she is forced to choose who to save, what will Mercy do? When the demon within her has its own agenda, going to new lengths to fulfill it, how will she cope? And when a new nemesis arrives, with a sole focus to take what belongs to her, how will she survive? Some situations make you stronger, some make you weak. She used to run from confrontation but the need to uncover secrets will harden her resolve to make new choices. In the end, someone else will suffer the consequences. Who will be burned by her very existence? And what will become of everything she holds dear? Mercy’s life wasn’t easy before and things aren’t getting easier now.

Waiting for Mercy Shannon Dermott 9781475098785 Books

We have the same key players as last time but, we need to add some to that list

Maggie, Mercy's best friend gets dragged into her supernatural world by fault of Brent.

Tom. We were introduced to Tom in the first book but we get more of a background story on him and why he's here. I actually like the batter between him and Mercy.

We also get more background info on Sebastion and Luke.

Overall.  The ending omg I so did not see that coming and I know if it didn't end like that I would not be getting the next book in the series. But I HAVE TO KNOW!!!  Mercy really began to get on my nerves in this book.  The way she talked and the bouncing back between her feeling for everyone. Girl, you got issues.  And Luke. Lordy, he is messed up. Mercy, you should have listened to everyone when they told you, that you were no good for golden boy. I'm still loving Flynn and Sebastion. She needs to pick them.

I can't wait to read how everyone's relationships play out and What Mercy really is.  :)

Waiting for Mercy Shannon Dermott 9781475098785 Books Reviews

Read from April 17 to 20, 2012

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways? Flynn-1000, Luke-1000, Sebastian-1000... and Paul to a lesser extent.

Just like the first one, I LOVED IT! 5''s, Nay- I'm going to other reviews to steal hearts and give 6''s... 7''s even if I get a few minutes alone with Flynn, or Luke, or Sebastian. I'm not picky, and all I'll need is a few minutes.

I am still loving the use of the SAT words that precede each chapter and the almost "Where's Waldo" task of looking for the word used in the chapter. I scoff at other books and their puny love triangle... bring on the love pentagram Baby! Well... I'd actually be happy with a square (I know many like Paul, but he's just kind of 'meh' to me.)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book (yes, shouty caps and all!)

"No one should be that good looking."

And oh my goodness... the scene in the cafeteria. Oh, my.... my, my, my. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh, or swoon, or glare, or beg to BE Mercy even through her uncomfortable moments! It was witty, engaging, entertaining, surprising, frustrating... for a succubus story, it's way tamer than you'd expect but still charmingly drool-worthy to keep an adult panting for more. And the revelations in this one, oh I think I wanted to (in equal amounts) verbally slap and kiss all my favorite guys in this book. Maybe a good physical slap, too... haven't decided if it lands on the butt or the face.

"You're like a dictionary, you add meaning to me life."

"If beauty were time, you'd be eternity."

"For a moment I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now I see that I am very much alive, and heaven has been brought to me."

I just cannot say enough how much I love this series. I sucked down that book like it was a cold sweet iced tea on a hot July day. Shannon, write faster! I NEED more Mercy! I simply MUST have more! Please? I'm trying to wait, but don't make me beg... again.
I'm just so sad that I waited for a few years before I got to this second book. Its always been on my mind after reading the first to try and see if the others were out but I got caught up with all the new books I had already on my kindle that I never made it back to check on this series. It since has plagued me!

The book is just as good as the first one. It does lead into the book proceeding the last. Or rather it picks up where the first book ended. The writing is still up to par as well as the characters and plot.

Only things I didn't like was the author made the main character Mercy a bit fickle. This manages to give me pause when reading. The character seems to be one way but mere seconds later her actions do another. Basically saying one thing only to do another or the opposite and vise versa. Its very frustrating to say the least.
The other thing that made me go huh? Is the last few chapters. Specifically with all the things going on and not being explained very well. Even after rereading them. The kitchen scene with everyone's parents completely confused me. I do but not really, grasp any of it. If that makes sense.

However, I would recommend this series to anyone and everyone so far. Its vastly becoming a favorite. Hopefully that doesn't change with the next books in tow.
